Next, we’ll show you how to make an Instagram post on Facebook. If you missed any part of this guide, click here to take you to the beginning.
Step 1: Link your Instagram account to your Facebook page
The first step to creating an Instagram ad is to connect your Instagram account to your Facebook page.
Go to the configuration area of your Facebook page (you must be an administrator) and click on Instagram Ads.
Next, click Add your Instagram to begin and complete your login credentials. When finished, click on Confirm.
Step 2: Create a campaign
Then go to the Facebook Ads Manager and click on “+ Create campaign” near the upper left corner of the screen.
This is where you choose the goal of your campaign.
Remember, if your goal is to increase conversions, you must have a conversion pixel installed on your website.
Create a Pixel on Facebook
You can do this by selecting “Create a pixel” on the Create New Ad Set page.
Step 3: Create your ad set
Once you have chosen a goal, it is time to create your set of ads. This is where you define who you want to see your ads and how much money you want to spend.
If you have already created Custom Audiences, you can select them for targeting with your Instagram ads at this time.
There are two options for your budget, daily budget and total budget.
- A daily budget sets your ad to run continuously throughout the day, which means that the algorithm will automatically calculate the daily spend.
A total budget sets your ad to run for a specific period of time, which means that the ad algorithm increases your spend during that full time period.
If you are just beginning, it is better to start low with your advertising spend. You can always increase the budget later if your ad works well.
When you have finished choosing who to target and how much to spend, click Continue at the bottom of the page.

On the next screen, you will see an option if you want to use a single image or video in your ad or if you want to use multiple images for a Carousel ad. Once you have decided, scroll down to upload your images or videos.
Once you have uploaded your images, scroll down to find an option to add text to your ad. Here you can choose the title and the text legend.
If you choose traffic or conversions as the goal of your campaign, you can also customize the call to action on your link button. There are several different options for your button, and they vary according to the page to which your visitors send.
Your call to action has a great effect on the clickthrough rate and conversions of your campaign, so be sure to choose something that is relevant to your offer and to the target audience
You can also click on Show advanced options to get additional creative options. However, keep in mind that creative options may differ depending on the objective you choose.
Finally, to the right of the text editor, you can preview what your ad will look like on Instagram. You can also see what your ad would look like in other formats.
You can run the ad on Facebook and Instagram, but if you only want to run it on Instagram, make sure that the other distribution options have been removed.
Once everything looks good, click on Confirm.
