Instagram is testing a new feature that would allow users to upload any photo or video from last week to Instagram Stories.
Instagram Stories has been a great success. More and more brands are using Instagram Stories for business, but like Snapchat, there are limitations that make the content of planning a challenge for sellers and business owners. The biggest challenge in the Instagram story? You can only post photos or videos in a 24-hour period.
Everyone wants to make a good Instagram story, but how do you keep up with all the work that goes into each story when you can not prepare in advance, or upload old photos or videos to your Instagram story?
24 hour limit of Instagram Stories
Currently, the feature only allows you to upload a photo or a video of the last 24 hours, but there are many ways to avoid them.
Here’s a look for you to know how it appears to the lucky users who have it:
As you can see, the bar at the top of “last week” instead of “the last 24 hours”, which Instagram users are used to.
So what does this mean for Instagram Stories as we know it? We hope that more brands will be included in Instagram Stories, without being limited to the content in real time. Instagram Stories has only been running for a year, but already 50% of companies on Instagram regularly use the feature.
But what most of the Instagram Story businesses are doing is the commitment of time, and the pressure to constantly create content in real time. You will notice that many companies do not have Instagram Stories over the weekend, for example, because their employees are not in the office at that time.
Eliminating the 24-hour time limit would be a great incentive for brands to post more in their Instagram stories, which could lead to more ads in Instagram Stories.
